The concert begins with a Strauss curiosity in the shape of music written in 1940 to honour the 2,600th anniversary of the Japanese Empire, a work that features Japanese temple gongs.

The new luxury train called the Golden Eagle Danube Express departed from Budapest yesterday on its maiden journey, bound for Tehran. The train left Nyugati station with 70 passengers on board for the nearly 7,000km, 13-day trip.
