Budapest Book Week to Feature 160 Publishers at Three Venues

The largest festival of Hungarian contemporary literature will present 160 publishers at 145 book stands between June 8 and 11, the head of the Hungarian Publishers’ and Booksellers’ Association said.

The Hey, June! programme series is as old as Müpa Budapest itself. It was first held in 2005, and has taken place at the end of the academic year ever since, ushering in the holidays and the festival season as an in-house mini-festival that opens the door to every aspect of this new beginning, welcoming the summer and giving us good reason to celebrate.

Born in Caracas, the artist Zeus Milenko Steven Salas currently lives and creates in Budapest. He left his home in Venezuela at a young age, to pursue gastronomy studies in Argentina. There, without any prior experience, he grabbed a brush and began painting – and he hasn’t stopped since.
