Tens of thousands of people lined the Budapest banks of the Danube to watch the car, motor sport and air show called Nagy Futam (Great Race) in downtown Budapest last Sunday. As part of the show, three planes twice flew under the Chain Bridge simultaneously. The stunt was spectacular but nearly ended badly, because on both occasions one of the planes flew too low and bounced off the Danube.

In most languages the word for cinema is something similar to the French term cinématographe, originally coined by the Lumière brothers in the 1890s, who borrowed it from the Greek κίνημα (kínēma, “movement”) adding the French suffix -graphe. Not in Hungarian.

The government is acting to ban access to the Uber application and website and those of similar taxi service companies, Development Ministry state secretary János Fónagy announced on Friday. He said the cabinet approved a bill to that effect on Wednesday that will be filed in Parliament on Monday.

MNB will withdraw the Ft 20,000 bank notes, that were issued before 2015, from circulation at the end of the year, it was just announced. The banknotes can be exchanged and converted at Magyar Posta offices until January 2020. New Ft 20,000 notes with enhanced security features were issued last year.
