Refugee Shot Near Slovak Border

Slovak border police shot and wounded a Syrian refugee yesterday as the car she was riding in failed to stop. The 26-year-old woman was operated on at Dunajska Streda hospital and the bullet was removed from her body. She was listed in a stable condition.
According to unconfirmed reports, the incident happened when Romanian and Hungarian people-smugglers took a group of illegal migrants across the Hungarian-Slovak border in four cars north of Gyõr early Monday.
