On September 24, two police officers were seriously injured when a homemade shrapnel bomb exploded on Grand Boulevard. Keresztes said that the suspect, who has no criminal record, appealed against his detention.

The Municipal Court of Budapest on Thursday ruled that the National Bank of Hungary (NBH) must release data of public interest regarding the sale of MKB Bank. The NBH sold MKB Bank to a consortium of two private equity funds, Blue Robin Investments and METIS Private Capital Fund, and Hungary’s Pannonia Pension Fund for HUF 37bn in the summer.

The festival, the largest of its kind in central and eastern Europe, will also feature events commemorating the 60th anniversary of Hungary’s 1956 anti-Soviet revolution, Csaba Káel said.
