Roma Employee Program In District Offices In Budapest

A cooperation project of the National Roma Government and Budapest and county government offices has enabled 100 citizens of Roma origin to start working as in district offices from 1 July 2013. The employment of staff of Roma origin in district offices, the smallest territorial units of public administration, may make administrative matters easier and simpler for all Roma citizens in the future.

People gathered outside the "House of Terror" museum in Budapest today to light candles in commemoration of the victims of totalitarian dictatorships. Parliamentary State Secretary of the Ministry of Public Administration and Justice Bence Rétvári and Vice-Chair of the Parliamentary Committee for Youth, Social, Family and Housing Affairs Péter Ágh participated and held speeches at the ceremony.

This year, 20 August celebrations will be held under the slogan “The country – together as one”. A special feature of this year’s events is that the series of programmes Nagyon Balaton (Very Balaton!) will include colourful family events, concerts and fireworks in several towns along the shores of Lake Balaton to commemorate the foundation of the Hungarian State.

The pro-government Civil Unity Forum (CÖF) will file a criminal report against banks and the Bank Association, its president László Csizmadia announced on Tuesday. Minister Varga said that in the opinion of the Government foreign currency denominated mortgages for home purchases need to be eliminated from the domestic lending market in a way which “takes into consideration the aspects of timing and burden-bearing”.
