Prime Minister Viktor Orbán inaugurated the new Budapest Music Center in Budapest on Saturday night. The Center includes several studios, an auditorium, music library, information centre, study room, jazz club and restaurant.

Calling all English speaking jazz lovers in Budapest to The Harmonia Jazz Workshop at the Budapest Jazz Club with a kick-off at 20.00 on Friday, 8th March 2013 proudly presents the Agnes Lakatos Standard Zone. The concert will be followed by a jam session open to all comers (no fees for that one).

"Ferenc Erkel was born in 1810. He began his career as a pianist and teacher in Kolozsvár (now Cluj in Romania). He wrote his first opera in 1840, Mária Báthori and then won the competition to set Kölcey’s Hymn to music and it remains Hungary’s national anthem.

He was also the first American Radio DJ on live radio in English in Eastern/Central Europe on Radio Bridge 102.1 FM in Budapest, Hungary in the early 1990's.

The Greek-Cypriot soprano Cleo Mitilineou studied at the Franz Liszt Academy of Music-State University in Budapest-obtaining a Master degree in Singing and teaching and in Opera.
