A new investigation into possible double standards regarding the quality of 30-35 products on the Hungarian and western European markets will cover beers, soft drinks, ice creams, grill products, sauces and salad dressings, a farm ministry official responsible for food safety said.

Israel and Jewish culture will be in focus at this year’s CAFe Budapest Contemporary Arts Festival held between October 6 and 22, the chief organiser said. Programmes featuring Israeli art will include acts by the Israel Ballet, the Avishai Cohen Trio and Avi Avital and Omer Avital, Csaba Káel said.

Hungary’s rolling average three-month jobless rate was 4.6% in February-April, slightly up from 4.5% in the previous period, the Central Statistical Office (KSH) said. The Feb-Apr rate was down from 5.8% in the same period a year earlier. The rate covers unemployment among those between the ages of 15 and 74.
