The health centre of the Hungarian army and the national ambulance services held a joint exercise on Tuesday morning which involved a fictitious explosion in Budapest. Defence Minister István Simicskó said after the event that Hungary is one of the safest countries in Europe but continuous efforts are needed to preserve this status every day.

Budapest expects European Union support to cover no less than 60% of the cost of renovating the capital’s third metro line M3, the city’s mayor said. Talks have taken place between the European Commission and the European Investment Bank on financing the rest of the project’s cost, István Tarlós said.

Its contruction began on 7th of May 1909 and was finished in 16th of Junge 1913 however it had been in plan since early 1880’s.
