"The U.S. Embassy in Budapest supported the Bohém Ragtime and Jazz Festival that took place between 26-28 March in Kecskemét, Hungary. With the Embassy’s assistance a unique platform was created where jazz musicians and their audiences could come together to continue a tradition that enriches Hungary’s cultural scene.

When I first saw the sign for the Sinatra Piano Bar, while walking along the Belgrád Rakpart near Fővám Tér, I was overjoyed. A real, live piano bar in Budapest, and about time, too. I couldn’t wait to check it out when it opened at 10 PM. I could just imagine it: a dimly-lit funky little place, a tinkling piano in the corner, a glass of smooth whiskey and all the old standards that Frankie used ...

"The journey began in 1977 as ‘STRADIVARIUS’ with a handful of young music enthusiasts, forming a choral group alongwith a few dancers. The group held its first performance at the Calcutta Television centre (Doordarshan) in ’77, the response was very encouraging, more like-minded youngsters joined and enriched the repertoire with their contribution.
