Hertz is very proud that can provide support the olympic champion kayaker, Gabriella Szabó. When she arrived back to Budapest from a 9-week training camp, a brand new Hyundia i30 sw was waiting her at the airport. Nowadays she’s training for the olympic sorting competitions, which will be held in Szeged in May 11-13, and June 11-12. Hertz Team will be there to support her.

A ceremony was held in the Parliament Building honouring the Hungarian medal winners of the London 2012 Summer Olympics and the 14th Summer Paralympic Games. The 31 medal winners and the sports professionals who helped their preparation were acknowledged by Prime Minister Viktor Orbán, President of Hungary János Áder and Speaker of Parliament László Kövér.

Minister of Human Resources Zoltán Balog, State Secretary for Sports Affairs and Deputy State Secretary for Sports Affairs Pál Szekeres handed over awards to Olympians and Paralympians winning 4th, 5th and 6th place and officials helping their success at this year’s Games. Hungary Rewards Olympic Gold Medalists With Ft 35 Million

The Hungarian Cabinet approved the payment of Ft 2.2 billion in bonuses to Hungary’s most successful athletes at the London Olympics, as well as to support staff. The one-off payments range from Ft 35 million for gold medalists to Ft 2 million for those who finished eighth in their competition.

Government Spokesman András Gíró-Szász has announced that the Government adopted the recommendation of the Hungarian Olympic Committee (MOB) regarding the financial reward for successful Hungarian Olympians. According to this, gold medallists are entitled to HUF 35 million, silver medallists to HUF 25 million, and bronze medallists to HUF 20 million.

Last week I beat an Olympic champion at tennis. OK, an ex-Olympic champion. A water-polo ex-Olympic champion. And it was Wii tennis (the video game). And he’d never played before. But a win’s a win, right? It was at a fantastic event which the Embassy supported. A competition for able-bodied children and children with disabilities to celebrate 100 days to go to the London Olympics.
