The Palace of Arts is celebrating Christmas this year with an 11-metre-tall Christmas tree built from 365 sleds. The Palace of Arts sees promoting innovation is a key part of its mission. The installation projects connected to its seasonal programmes are a central element of this in allowing young artists and designers to put themselves forward in this prestigious venue.

Civil organisations and opposition parties staged a torchlight demonstration on Friday against the plan to build a museum quarter and other facilities in the city landmark Városliget, or City Park of Budapest. The protest was organised by the Hungarian Solidarity Movement, the E14-PM electoral alliance and two civil organisations, and joined by the Socialists as well.
Top Court Rejects Complaint On Foetus Protection Law

The top court has rejected a complaint by four civilians, including former radical nationalist Jobbik lawmaker Balázs Lenhardt, challenging Hungary’s foetus protection law.

Gábor Czene of Népszabadság conducted an interview with Tamás Fabiny, bishop of the northern district of the Hungarian Lutheran Church. Fabiny was ordained in Erlangen, Germany in 1982. He also studied in the United States. In addition to his church activities he worked for Duna TV. Since 2010 he has been the vice chairman of the Lutheran World Federation.
