Hungary’s first online portal for expats, XpatLoop.com, celebrates its 20th birthday this year. It usually combines its anniversary with fundraising for local children’s charities and a celebration of the British Bonfire Night tradition in November, an event the Budapest Business Journal has long been happy to promote.

From Müpa: We regret to inform you that, pursuant to the decision made by the Hungarian government with respect to the situation surrounding the coronavirus pandemic, all of Müpa Budapest's performances have been cancelled from 11 November until 10 December 2020, and the building will remain closed throughout this period.
'Annual Remembrance Ceremony' This Sunday

The Annual Service of Remembrance organised by the British Embassy will be held on Sunday 8 November. The traditional service and wreath-laying ceremony will take place at the Commonwealth War Cemetery of Solymár at 10:55.

“Over the past 1100 years, Hungarians have experienced much more serious crises than the current one, but emerged victorious from every one of them”, Minister of Human Capacities Miklós Kásler emphasised at a ceremony in Budapest on Tuesday to present state awards to mark the 20 August national holiday, and awards postponed from the 15 March memorial day of the 1848 revolution.
