Magyar Telekom will dismiss 500 of its 7,500 employees, having reached agreement with its unions, the company said on Monday. Most of the workers will leave at the end of the year, reports Napi Gazdaság. The cuts do not include any retirements nor cuts in executive staff.

Nokia has axed a further 200 jobs at its plant in Komarom in the third and final wave of job cuts that total 2,300, factory council head Zoltan Laszlo confirmed. Employees were given generous compensation, three months extra pay in addition to the legal minimum and job-seeking benefits as well, he added.
