The State Opera House in Budapest plans to close for a nine-month renovation next year, the opera’s director told public television. “Thorough preparations have been made,” Szilveszter Ókovács told M1, adding that a related government decision concerning the iconic building on Andrássy Avenue would be made in January or February next year.
