On September 14-16, the U.S. Embassy in Budapest hosted Judy and Dennis Shepard, founders of the Matthew Shepard Foundation. The Shepards dedicate their work to the memory of their son Matthew who was killed in an anti-gay hate crime in 1998 and seek to promote understanding and acceptance through education, outreach and advocacy programs.
