Sausage Festival In Budapest, 13 - 15 October

This annual festival featuring 250 types of spiced up meat will be held at the Hungarian Railway Museum this year. As well as lots of porky specials available along several 'Sausage Streets', there will be family programs, folklore shows, 'nostalgic music programs' and dance, plus apparently presentations of enormous sausages, during this three day special Hungarian gastro event.

Socialists To Reduce Parliamentary Activity Till Election

The opposition Socialist Party said it would cut back on its parliamentary activity until next year’s general election. Socialist group leader Bertalan Tóth told reporters that his party would not initiate parliamentary debate sessions, turn to the president or the Constitutional Court and would even boycott five-party talks between now and the election.

The number of guest nights spent in commercial accommodation in Hungary rose by an annual 3% to 4,439,000 in August, the Central Statistical Office (KSH) said. Guest nights spent by Hungarian tourists rose by 2.3% to 2,390,000, while nights spent by foreign visitors grew by 3.8% to 2,049,000.

Global bike-share platform Donkey Republic is bringing its service to Budapest, making it possible to rent bikes via a smartphone, at what it says will be cheaper prices than the MOL Bubi system, according to a press release.
