Report: 85% Support Reopening Stores On Sunday

In a poll conducted recently by online news portal origo.hu, 85% of the siteʼs readers said they support the reopening of stores on Sundays, but government friendly daily Magyar Idők reported today that the increase in payroll resulting from the Sunday reopenings may have to be passed on to the consumer in the form of higher prices.

Prices for public catering services are expected to drop as a result of the planned nationalisation of such services, daily Magyar Idők reported. Talks have already started about transferring control over all public catering services from local councils to the state. NBH Deputy Governor: Bank To Continue Easing Cycle

Hungary’s central bank (NBH) will cut the base rate until it reaches a rate that is consistent with its inflation target, NBH deputy governor Márton Nagy told journalists. The bank wants to keep rate the key rate low for a sustained period, he said. The NBH’s inflation target is 3% in a +/-1 percentage-point tolerance band.
