The Capital Court of Appeal has reprimanded the state school administrative body KLIK and the Gyöngyöspata local council after finding that Roma children were segregated in the town’s primary school from 2004 to September, 2012.

Exactly 19 of the 199 members of Hungary's new parliament are women. That comes to 9.5 percent, a ratio that speaks for itself. Looking for an adjective to describe the situation I thought of ridiculous, untenable and infuriating but finally settled for humiliating as the word that best describes what I feel when thinking of this 9.5 percent ratio.

The state purchased primary schools textbook publisher Apáczai in great secrecy this week, several sources confirmed to Népszabadság on Wednesday. The funds necessary for the deal were raised by the cabinet in a resolution approved on March 20.
