The European Union received 185,000 first time asylum seekers during the first three months of 2015, a report released by Eurostat shows. Germany was the top destination for asylum seekers, with 73,100 people filing for refugee status, Eurostat said. Hungary registered the second highest number of applicants totaling 32,800.
