Big International Tourism Conference, Budapest, 14 - 15 October
The Tourism Summit, an international conference for the tourism industry, will be held in Budapest between October 14 - 15, the organiser Visit Hungary told MTI.

According to their information, in just a few weeks, more than a thousand people have registered for the event, which is hosted by Bálna Budapest. The event, which will feature renowned foreign experts, focuses on the future of tourism.

The conference language is English, which is subtitled in Hungarian by artificial intelligence.

Olivér Csendes, CEO of Visit Hungary, highlighted that feedback from participants shows that they managed to find exciting topics and attract engaging international speakers to Hungary.

This attracted the attention of domestic players in the tourism sector: they are curious about foreign ideas, the experiences of other nations in tourism, and the challenges of the future, he added.

They wrote that the future of travel is not just about landscapes, but also about data, responsibility and connected experiences. What will tourism look like in a world where algorithms recommend destinations, data drives developments, and sustainability is no longer an option but a prerequisite? The Tourism Summit seeks practical and inspiring answers to these questions.

More than fifty experts from sixteen countries will seek answers to these and similar questions, with the involvement of the Hungarian profession.

Prominent speakers who accepted Visit Hungary's invitation included NASA AI Director Omar Hatamleh, Nick Hall, founder and CEO of Digital Tourism Think Tank, and Xavier Font, professor at the University of Surrey and a prominent expert on sustainable tourism.

They mentioned that the international presentation of the calculator that measures the ecological footprint of baths, spas and wellness centers, as well as bathers, promises to be a real novelty - in a way already established in aviation - thus helping the maintaining institutions in optimized operation and reducing costs.

A publication summarizing fifty best Hungarian practices in the field of sustainable tourism may also be of great interest: its creators have collected the best examples, from wineries to accommodation and various tourist attractions.
