Frank Peterson, upon visiting the Escorial Royal Monastery, was walking in the medieval corridors listening to rock music on his Walkman. The monks religious chanting combined with the music on his earphones and inspired him to create a unique experiment: to mix the Gregorian chants with rock melodies.

Cheryl Magyar has a passion for living a simple life. Raised in a suburb of Chicago where she never felt at home, she then moved to the west coast after graduating from Iowa State University. Seattle was too grey, so with her Hungarian husband they purchased a 5 hectare tanya in Ópusztaszer.

My husbands' family left Hungary in 1946 after the expropriation of their stately home and settled in Paris where we met at university in 1965, studying political science. I am myself of German origin and was also brought up in Paris. We married, I learned Hungarian.

Bronwen Rees is the founder of the East West Sanctuary at Nagykovacsi near Budapest. This is a centre for contemplative inquiry into the conditions of our changing world, and brings together experts, thinkers from all quarters of the world, and from all disciplines. Grew up in New Jersey, and began studying yoga after moving to New York City in 1993. Prior to that he had been an avid runner and cyclist in Philadelphia. He was the president of the Bicycle Club of Philadelphia, an organization with over 1,000 members at that time, & led bike tours through the Cape of Massachusetts, Martha's Vineyard, Maryland, Vermont, Maine, Pennsylvania and New Jersey. ...
