On May 2nd 2012 the famous landmark reopens to the public with the first Hungarian visual exhibition. The more than a 101-year-old Margaret Island Water Tower is an industrial monument of Budapest, which is situated on Margaret Island, one of the most beautiful islands of the Danube, which runs through whole Europe and flows between Buda and Pest.
Hungarian Regional Development Ministry To Outlaw “Pocket Contracts”

The signing of “pocket contracts” – illegal agreements to circumvent the ban on the sale of land to foreigners – will be classified as a crime, Regional Development Ministry state secretary Gyula Budai said in an interview with Magyar Hírlap at the weekend. Most such contracts have been signed in western Hungary over the past 20 years, often disguised as rental agreements.

Someone could nitpick and say that János Áder has not been confirmed as president yet. He was only nominated by Viktor Orbán and endorsed by the Fidesz-KDNP parliamentary caucuses. National Resources Minister Miklós Réthelyi opened the 19th Budapest International Book Festival at the Millenáris Centre Thursday afternoon. In his speech Réthelyi said a book is a force which carries in itself the promise of truth and eternity.

Wednesday, April 18 will mark 100 days until the start of the Summer Olympics in London, so the Marczibányi tér Sport Center in District II is starting out on the 4,300 kilometer virtual "road to London."

In the morning of Saturday, 14th March 2012 spectators are going to be welcomed by open air music at Szechenyi-hegy Station. The official programme is going to commence with a flag hoisting ceremony at 10:30 hrs.
