Iván Fischer, conductor of the Budapest Festival Orchestra, is one of British classical music periodical Gramophone’s ten nominees for the title of Artist of the Year. The winner will be selected by readers of the magazine and announced at an awards ceremony on September 17. Musicians who were particularly successful in the past 12 years were nominated.

The Franz Liszt Music Academy of Budapest has received the Europa Nostra Award in the conservation of cultural heritage category. The two-year renovation of the building was completed in fall 2013.
