Retail sales in Hungary rose by an annual 3.6 percent in March, accelerating from 0.8 percent in the previous month, data released by the Central Statistical Office (KSH) on Thursday show. A recent review of food products made in Hungary and other EU countries found no significant differences in the quality of the products, the national federation of food processors (Efosz) told MTI on Thursday. The National Food Chain Safety Office (Nébih) tested 68 comparable Hungarian and Austrian products, 18 of which showed minor differences.

Hungarians on average will spend 40,000 forints (127 euros) on Christmas this year, a survey by NRC market research shows.
