The National Agriculture and Food Exhibition (Országos Mezőgazdasági és Élelmiszeripari Kiállítás, in short OMÉK), which is the biggest agricultural exhibition in Hungary, has a long running tradition that goes back to more than 100 years. The 77th OMÉK is open for the visitors between 23 September and 27 September 2015 in the Hungexpo Budapest Fair Center.

Last weekend marked the annual National Gallop on Budapest’s Heroes’ Square as one of the city’s main attractions was taken over by jockeys and horses. At the end it was János Németh from the Southern town of Baja who won the finals of the 8th National Gallop, winning the cup as well as the 5 million HUF cash prize and an original Hungarian hussar sabre dated back to the mid-19th century.

A report published on the police’s website shows that 2,181 persons were apprehended on Friday, 1,002 on Saturday and 2,203 on Sunday.
