This year, 17 adaptations will be presented in four different venues (the Opera House, Erkel Theatre, Music Academy and Müpa), including popular plays like Hamlet, Macbeth, Romeo and Juliet and A Midsummer Night’s Dream.

Ambassador Roman Kowalski will present the Polish Republic’s Order of Merit, Knight’s Cross, to composer László Király, poet Zoltán Polner and conductor-theatre director Sándor Gyudi at the embassy on Friday.

The fair is the second largest literary event in Asia and the fourth largest such event in the world that last year featured 700 publishing houses from 70 countries, István Íjgyártó said.
