Confusion reigns over the fate of Hungary’s nuclear deal with Russia, with reports from British newspaper the Financial Times that the EU has blocked the agreement worth 12 billion euros. Hungary has denied the news, local news agency MTI reported. According to the UK paper the decision to block the Paks II deal was taken last week at a meeting of EU commissioners.

Fully 282 people have registered for the anti-brain drain programme launched a week ago to attract young Hungarians working abroad back home, the economy ministry said. Hungary, as the current president of the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance (IHRA), hosted a large-scale international event remembering the Holocaust, in London. Szabolcs Takács, Hungary’s state secretary for EU affairs, said London was a symbolic venue for such an event as Britain had a very strong Jewish community from whom there was a lot to learn.

During the testing phase, the pipeline operators are offering 50,000 megawatt hours per day entry and exit capacities to Hungary on a first come-first serve basis, Eustream said in a statement.
