WebTheater Budapest Presents: TranzDanz - Transit, 23 March
TranzDanz presented its latest contemporary dance performance inspired by Hungarian folk dance at the TRIP’s WebTheater - available online until 6 April.

The choreographer Gerzson Péter Kovács focuses on the theme of transit, the non-place. In the temporary world of transit, anyone can run into anyone, here lives the character of random encounters, adventures, the traveler who fills the void of non-place by recalling his memories, desires and perhaps the future ...

Gerzson Péter Kovács, dancer, choreographer and visual designer, leader of the contemporary dance ensemble TranzDanz, has been a defining figure in Hungarian dance for almost four decades. The dance language he created stems partly from the past of folk dancers and partly through the innovative application of contemporary techniques to create a unique and unmistakable world of movement.

Among the motives of TranzDanz, we can discover references to the symbols of archaic cultures as well as to the images of the globalized world around us today. In addition to combining movement and music, their performances are often multimedia in nature: the playful dynamics of the visual, acoustic and movement elements are decisive in them.

With their individual, striking performances, Gerzson Péter Kovács and the TranzDanz company have undoubtedly become one of the important factors in the Hungarian contemporary dance scene.
