Ballet Company of Győr, National Dance Theatre in Budapest, 28 September
The Ballet Company of Győr is preparing for a unique and exhilarating premiere, in which the spectators can see the works of two Hungarian choreographers. Zoltán Fodor, the creator focusing on the unity of the company and building on group dynamics, already worked with the company 10 years ago.

Now, he is stirring the dance stage with his play Chaos. In the second half of the evening, András Lukács tells the story of Virginia Woolf fighting her disease and giving up with sensitive delicacy in his work The Waves.

The Waves

"If anyone could have saved me, it would have been you." (Virginia Woolf)

Virginia Woolf, a leading figure in modern literature, killed herself in the River Ouse on 28 March 1941, loading her pockets with stones. In her farewell letter to her husband, she wrote about her re-intensifying anxiety and the voices that led her to her watery grave. András Lukács presents the story and the struggles of her last moments to the audience.
