Come and explore the Kőszegi-hegység, the western jewelry box of Hungary with us! Breath in the fresh air at the foot of the Alps, enjoy the view of the old pine tree forests, hike up to Írott-kő the Western starting point of the OKT (the Hungarian national blue trail), visit the old wine cellars in Cák, and after finishing the exceptional hike, refill the burned calories with a traditional dish from Vas county, with a super tasty dödölle.

This will be a long day, but worth all the energies. We jump into the van early in the morning in Budapest and drive to the starting point of the hike that is a little romantic village in the western edge of the country called Velem and we get back to Budapest in the evening hours.

As we believe that walking in nature is the most touching with a small group, we have only 8 open places for this trip.

Difficulty of the hike: 20 kms – 700ms elevation gain
Moderate. A good fitness level is needed to manage the day in a good mood. No hiking experience is needed, but if you don’t do any sports and you barely walk, you will get exhausted early in the day.

Please note that the trip will also be held in bad weather conditions. We believe that nature keeps you some magic in any conditions. If it rains we take our raincoats on. The hike will be cancelled only in case of thunderstorms or in case the COVID rules require.
