Airspace Expected To Be Clear Today
"Air traffic authority HungaroControl expects Hungary’s skies to be sufficiently clear of volcanic ash particles to allow unrestricted flying a spokesman said last night.

However, only about half of scheduled flights are expected to operate today, similar to the rest of Europe, largely due to restrictions elsewhere on the continent.

On Tuesday, 89 of the 169 scheduled de-partures and 90 of the 172 scheduled arrivals were cancelled.

Malév flights took off for destinations in South and East Europe and the Middle East, as well as Paris, Madrid, Amsterdam and Ber-lin. WizzAir launched flights to Naples, Tirgu Mures, Bologna and Brussels.

HungaroControl lifted flight restrictions on Hungarian airspace from 10 a.m. Tuesday after EU transport authorities reached agree-ment on a unified system of assessing the risk to flight safety of volcanic ash.

Accordingly high risk, low risk and risk-free zones are determined and the transport authorities of member states are informed of the status every six hours."
