- 23 Apr 2010 1:00 AM
Serving as an "introductory professionalization course", the fellowship aims to develop basic skills that potential employers will value. The first four fellows' successful graduation from the fellowship program demonstrates that the selected participants serve as role models, encouraging other multiply disadvantaged people to pursue professional goals.
The full-time two month program is primarily designed for recently graduated university students, and secondarily, for senior year students of multiply disadvantaged backgrounds, who must be Hungarian citizens. Mid-level oral and written English knowledge is required.
Elements of the fellowship program include a general orientation to the State Department and to the Embassy's policies and operation, life coaching, job-seeking and employment-related counseling, public affairs, business processes and operations, public speaking, professional ethics, financial training, researching and writing exercises, organizational tasks and networking duties.
In addition to enhancing various employment-related skills, fellows will receive a completion certificate acknowledging their service at the Embassy and potential letters of recommendation. Aiming to cover the costs of participation in the program, the Embassy will provide free housing and a stipend of approximately $ 250 USD a month to those participating in the fellowship program."
Please consult the U.S. Embassy website http://hungary.usembassy.gov for details of application.
