In his remarks before more than 40 children, Mr. Levine paraphrasing from a speech by President Obama spoke about the importance of learning. The DCM also donated 4 desktop computers and a laptop to the school and made a personal donation of a play station and a TV set. Judit Berki, Principal of the Bátonyterenye Tanoda, briefed Mr. Levine on the school’s activities.
Students participate in Tanoda activities after regular school hours. Their teachers design special programs for them to help them with their homework. Students attending this particular Tanoda recited poems and performed songs and dances, and hosted an authentic Roma lunch prepared in the garden."
