Historic Buildings In Hungary  Open To Visitors This Weekend
"More than 700 buildings normally closed to the public, in 270 municipalities, will be open to visitors this coming Saturday and Sunday to mark Cultural Heritage Days it was announced this week. One of the prominent sights will be the presidential palace in Buda Castle, along with the National Bank, several embassies, and the Patent Office.

Judit Tamási, acting president of the Cultural Heritage Office, recalled that this all-European initiative was launched 25 years ago to enable visitors to see historic buildings or private homes of cultural significance.

Meanwhile, Hungary's list of cultural treasures on Unesco's World Heritage list is expanding to include Halas lace, Matyó embroidery and Hungarian hunting with falcons. A formal announcement is expected on Friday."
