Hungarian MTV To Go Legal Over OVB Decision
- 29 Sep 2010 1:00 AM
The OVB voted by six votes to two that both MTV and Magyar Rádió had violated the basic principle of equal opportunities between nominating organisations and the practice of rights in good faith, by refusing to broadcast a Jobbik party political broadcast that used the term “Gypsy crime”.
The MTV chief yesterday underlined that the Jobbik film will not be aired, however.
Magyar Rádió spokeswoman Julianna Borbély-Urquhart meanwhile told MTI that the radio station will appeal the OVB ruling at the Supreme Court. Appeals can be lodged with the Court until 4 p.m. on Wednesday.
Jobbik spokeswoman Dóra Dúró said her party will take legal action if the Supreme Court rules that her party was right."
