Reliability, lower prices and quality service. This is what the passenger of Budapest Airport would get from Főtaxi, the company that would start operating the taxi service within two weeks time from all the terminals of the airport. As a final step of the invitational tender an agreement has been signed this morning by Budapest Airport and Főtaxi.
According to White&Case legal firm who was assisting Budapest Airport in the tender the whole process was conducted in accordance with all the relevant laws and rules set by the tender itself. In their opinion there could be no doubt that every step was taken with utmost care and due diligence.
For Budapest Airport the most important factors in the tender were lower than present prices, the quality of the service, the reliable and clear ownership background and correct business practices. These factors were all incorporated in the call for tender and the execution alike.
After the signing of the contract Jost Lammers CEO of Budapest Airport has said, that „Before the Hungarian EU-presidency due to start in January next year it was of paramount importance to us to have a proper solution for the taxi-issue. It is of equal importance to us that Budapest Airport passengers will be transported by the most prestigious Hungarian taxi company that has almost a hundred years of tradition in the business.
After the signing ceremony Mr. Gyula Hausz, CEO of Főtaxi has said: “We have every means to meet the demands of Budapest Airport and most of all the passengers travelling between the city and the airport in both directions. I am sure that based on our professional background, organization and the reliability of our employees we will provide a service that will meet the highest demands of airport passengers.”
According to the contract signed today Főtaxi will provide taxi service from the airport during the next five years. All cars detached to the airport service will be equipped with credit card capable POS-terminals and Főtaxi has taken some commitments to further technical improvements of the taxi service at the terminals due to be introduced in the first half of 2011. Főtaxi thus will have an opportunity to create some new, quality jobs on the taxi market."
