Hungary Becomes 106th Member Of International Cricket Council
The Hungarian Cricket Association (HCA) is proud to announce that Hungary has been accepted into the International Cricket Council (ICC) as a new Affiliate Member, the ICC is the international governing body of cricket.

The 2012 ICC Annual Conference was recently held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, attended by representatives of the 10 Full Members; 36 Associate Members and 5 Affiliate regional representatives. With the unanimous vote Hungary becomes the 106th Member of the ICC.

After just 6 years of cricket in it's current form Hungarian cricket is going from strength to strength. Membership to the ICC now enables Hungary to access more resources to grow cricket in the country, with the aim of increasing the number of people playing the sport, focusing on further development of native Hungarian cricket, women's cricket, as well as establishing a Roma Cricket initiative.

ICC representatives visited Hungary in August of 2011 and were impressed at the progress that has been made so far, visiting our two main cricket facilities, the Kispest Athletikai Centrum as well as our dedicated ground, GB Oval in Szodliget. A presentation was also made by the HCA Board outlining the goals for the future where also present were Mrs. Bábiné Szottfried Gabriella, MP and Mr. Ákos Füzi from the ministry.

It is a proud day for Hungarian cricket and many thanks go to all the cricketers that have made Hungary's new ICC membership possible.
