Hungary's Ruling Party Fidesz Lead Grows In New Poll
Support for Fidesz among decided party voters rose from 32% to 36% from May to June, while that for the Socialists fell from 31% to 27%, according to the latest Tarki poll. Jobbik’s popularity went up from 21% to 22%, LMP’s dropped from 11% to 10%, and the Democratic Coalition’s from 4% to 3%.

Fidesz support among all eligible voters grew from 16% in May to 18% in June, while that for the Socialist Party dropped from 15% to 14%. Jobbik is at 11%, LMP at 5%, and the Democratic Coalition at 2%.

The results are based on a June 14-20 survey of 1,000 adults.

A poll conducted by the Nezopont Institute for conservative weekly Heti Valasz found that Fidesz has 44% support among active voters, ahead of the Socialists at 27%, and Jobbik at 16%.

Nezopont has not gauged such a low inclination to vote since April 2010, as only 49% of respondents said they would go to the polls if parliamentary elections were held today, down from 65% in 2010.

The results are based on a June 18-26 survey of 1,000 randomly selected adults.
