Three Killed In Crash In Hungary On M3
- 22 Aug 2012 9:00 AM
Three people died and two others were injured in an accident on the M3 motorway 44km from Budapest early Tuesday morning. The driver of a Slovak BMW apparently fell asleep while driving and smashed her car into a Fiat Punto which ran into a barrier and burst into flame.
Three people in the Fiat were burnt to death. A fourth person managed to climb out of the car, suffering second-degree burns.
The BMW driver suffered only light injuries. As there is a suspicion of drunk driving, police are continuing their inquiry.
The motorway was re-opened to traffic later on Tuesday following a huge snarl-up.
