- 11 Dec 2012 8:00 AM
AirBaltic will operate flights between Riga and Hévíz-Balaton Airport from May 4, 2013, under a three-year contract signed yesterday. The Latvian airline’s planes will fly once a week on Saturdays in the summer until October, vice president Janis Vangas announced. Each one-way ticket will cost €41.
The town of Hévíz is not only an airport operator but co-ordinates regional local governments in expanding the local tourism market, mayor Gábor Papp emphasised.
Hévíz-Balaton Airport will have about 19,000 passengers this year, mostly charter flights from Germany, Norway and Russia. The airport’s annual capacity is 300,000 passengers.
