The sport’s governing body, FIFA, last week ordered Hungary to play its next home game in an empty stadium and fined the football association SFr 40,000.

Csányi said the MLSZ will identify the disorderly fans from video recordings, and will sue them for compensation due to lost revenue for the World Cup qualifier against Romania in March and the fine imposed by FIFA.

Csányi called the FIFA fine justified but disproportionate. He added that only 100-200 out of 10,000 fans had behaved badly.

If the MLSZ appeal against the ruling is rejected, tens of thousands of people will be able to watch the Hungary-Romania game on a giant screen on 56-osok tere, Csányi said.
