Xpat Event Report: We Coloured The Weekend Into A Rainbow In Hungary

Over 70 runners and supporters ran in Seedling colors at Saturday's Wink Marathon in Siófok. This fantastic day brought so much joy and emotions to all of us it would be hard to list them all in one small space. We raised over 200,000 forints from t-shirt sale, VK Seedling re-designed bags, charity stickers and Heart Over Heels books. A group of 25 disabled Seedlings also joined us for 7 kilometers of the event, and were overjoyed at the end to get to join the Special Olympics athletes on the stage to get their well-deserved medals and cups. We'd like to express our gratitude to the Wink Marathon organizers for making this great day possible.
On Saturday evening during the charity gala event organized by Ö.S.R.M.N., the Seedlings received over 100,000 HUF in donations to will be equally allocated among the Trust's five main projects in 2013.
Then on Sunday we did not stop either – we continued our great weekend of charity running by joining forces with the runners of Tárnok for the town's Sports Day, where nearly 500 runners were running wearing Seedling colours! In total over two days we raised nearly 400,000 forints for the Trust's programs.
Well done, everyone, and thanks to all who came out to support us in our mission to make charity running a major force in fundraising in Hungary. All donations raised by sport events will be put towards the second specially-equipped minibus for the Seedlings, which we hope to purchase this year.
