Xpat Event Report: Budapest Soup Festival, Elvis Presley Park
The Budapest Soup Festival (Budai Levesfesztivál) was organized for the first time. Held in the Elvis Pressley Park, with a mixture of Hungarian and International soups, where you could find the usual suspects (fish, meat, gulyas, vegetable, bean, fruit, liver dumpling and onion-in-bread soup), as well as, the not so usual ones. It was not quite as big as the other food festivals I have been to this year, which I kind of liked this time.

It allowed me to go around and try some of the other delights on show, such as the Belgium fruit beer, sweet n salty crepes, fruit wine, some “Yugoslavian food”, rice soup with sausage and prize-winning homemade Hungarian beer.

It gave me a taster of things to come, and as the afternoon unfolded, you could hear the sounds of gypsy violinists and which really got you in the mood for the summer…to come.
