Budapest The 2nd Top Spot In Europe For 2013
Within Lonely Planet’s latest list of top European destinations, Budapest has won the silver medal. Writers and editors of Lonely Planet were trying to think of cities, that are not too mainstream, and are not too packed with summer travellers, but offer café culture, history and outdoor adventures. Number one is Porto & the Douro Valley, Portugal a good value destination with its thriving arts scene and up and coming culinary reputation.

Number two is Budapest, Hungary the city that never sleeps and has a unique pop-up bar culture, not to mention the numerous thermal spring-filled baths and traditional Turkish baths to choose from.

The precious third place goes to Northern Iceland, where exploring lava fields and waterfalls is a must.

Cinque Terre in Italy and Moravia in Czech Republic also made it to the top five, while Bern, Marseille and Croatia are also among the new hot spots to visit.
