Xpat Event Report: Intact Academy Salon Series Budapest
“Intact” coaching has been alive and kicking in Budapest for some 20 years. This is largely down to the charming and charismatic Sari van Poelje, who has been hopping back and forth between Holland and Hungary. No doubt she has collected a wealth of knowledge and expertise on the way.

This event was the last in a series of  “Salons” that she has been running lately. Local artist Anita Kroo was exhibiting her work, and Mate Bartok played classic jazz, accompanied by Erik Tempfli, which set the scene for an engaging evening.

The theme was “changing organisational culture”. Not an easy one to get your head around or define, as some of the audience would agree. After some group discussion and prompting, we finally arrived at some conclusions. This gave some food for thought as the talk moved towards the topic of how change can occur and how the shift happens from “hierarchical leadership” to a more forward thinking approach of “team leadership”.

As individuals, we do not particularly like change and especially not at the expense of compromising ourselves, but this is becoming increasingly the case. This event was an insight into the ways change can be understood and it was delivered in a refreshingly optimistic manner. Followed by some drinks and food to digest the evening’s nuggets of knowledge.
