Aim of the Rural Women's Day:
To call attention to rural women, their values, their creativity, their role and contribution from the point of view of sustainability, such as their role in the renewal of agriculture, rural culture and tradition in farmers’ communities. The active role of women is indispensable for the cohesion of rural communities and in the development of the local economy, in helping to sustain development and in the preservation and proliferation of culture and traditional family values.
Opening speeches by Ms. Andrea Ferenczi, president of the Association for Women’s Development in Hungary, and Dr. Márta Hiller, Director of the Hungarian National Rural Network Permanent Secretariat in Hungary (NAKVI)
