Nine More Casinos Plan To Open Next Year In Hungary
The 2014 Hungarian budget bill includes provision for concession fees from nine new category II casinos that plan to open next year; these are in addition to the three casinos currently operating in the country, says business daily Világgazdaság.

The bill has set the minimum annual concession fee at HUF 377 million in Budapest and Pest county, and HUF 54 million elsewhere in the country, resulting in HUF 2.1 billion in state revenue.

On the other hand, the 2014 budget bill forecasts a steep decline in income from gaming taxes, expecting HUF 33 billion in revenue compared to the 47 billion projected for this year.

Casinos operating under concession are exempt from last year’s legislation banning slot machines and table games.
