Now On: Robert Capa, The Gambler, Hungarian National Museum, Budapest
Capa as you’ve never seen him before – This exhibition marking the 100th anniversary of the birth of the world-famous photo-reporter examines his potential roles and comes up with historical answers to the question: what was Robert Capa?

In general, earlier exhibitions on Robert Capa have revolved around the issue of who was Robert Capa. Now the question is posed: what was he? Emigrant who never settled anywhere. Photo-reporter and war correspondent who wrote and made films. Hero, commended by the best writers of his generation. Charmeur, loved by women. Man, whose passion was gambling.

This exhibition attempts to show the range of possibilities and the context of a remarkable life journey. We are helped on our way with photographs, projected images, objects and documents, interiors and audio sceneries. The content is not divorced from the visual experience; well-known Capa pictures are reinterpreted by the creative, narrative concept, inducing the viewer to see the point of the creative life, the gamble, the boundaries of luck and the individual.
