The authorities have issued an operating permit for the Fővám Square stop of Budapest’s new fourth metro line, now remaining only one stop without a permit, the Mayor’s Office said on Thursday. The Fővám Square stop in central Budapest will serve the Corvinus University, the local Great Market Hall and tram lines.
The stop has been nominated to several architectural design awards. The 4th metro line with 10 stops will connect the southern part of Buda with northeast Budapest.
The final cost of the project is estimated at about 453 billion forints (EUR 1.5bn).
